Buying adult-wellness products in Hong Kong: a first-purchase checklist

Write down your practical priorities

Start with a short list: size, controls, charging method, storage and whether an app is involved. Compare those details against the manufacturer’s current specifications. A product name or category does not tell you all of them.

Keep appearance separate from the evidence you need. A polished photograph cannot confirm dimensions, materials, water-resistance claims or the terms of a warranty. Look for the relevant written specification.

Compare the whole purchase

• Delivered cost: product price, shipping and any optional services.
• Delivery: coverage for your address, collection options and dispatch estimates.
• Privacy: the outer packaging, sender label and payment description.
• Support: a clear contact route and a written process for defects.
• Returns: whether opened and unopened products are treated differently.

Save the product page and policy details you relied on at the time of purchase. A later policy or price change should not be confused with the information you originally saw.

Treat different kinds of evidence differently

Manufacturer specifications describe the product. Retailer policies describe the transaction. A documented independent test can add evidence about actual use, but only within its stated method and limitations.

These guides are based on published information and editorial comparison. We do not describe a product as personally tested unless the article explicitly records that testing. We also do not turn merchant marketing language into a medical claim.

A useful final check

Before paying, confirm that the selected item, delivery address and current conditions match your expectations. If an important detail is missing, ask the retailer directly rather than relying on a category label.

For product operation, cleaning and compatibility, use the exact model’s instructions. This page is a shopping guide for adults, not personalised health advice.
